What you're paying for

What interior detail actually is

An interior detail is the deep clean of the cabin: hot-water extraction of carpets and upholstery, leather cleaning and conditioning, vent and crevice work, headliner spot-treatment, and glass.

Done correctly, the seats come out smelling neutral, the carpets dry by morning, and small stains are mostly invisible. The detailer's extractor pulls embedded dirt and dander out of fabric in a way a household vacuum simply can't.

Add-ons separate the menu: pet hair extraction (+$40–$80), biohazard cleanup (+$80+), child-seat removal and underneath cleaning (+$30–$50), ozone treatment for persistent smells (+$60), and engine bay degreasing (+$50–$80).

Pricing FAQ

Interior Detail cost — FAQ

How long does the carpet stay damp?
A proper extraction with a good extractor leaves carpets damp-not-wet for 6–12 hours. By the next morning everything is dry. If you're getting a damp car back 2 days later, the extractor or the technique is wrong.
Will the detailer remove smoke smell?
Surface deodorizers only mask it. Real removal requires ozone treatment + cabin filter swap + sometimes the upholstery being re-shampooed. Budget $120–$200 over a base interior detail.
Do I need to remove personal items first?
Yes. Detailers won't work around your kids' car seats, sports gear, or work tools. A 10-minute clear-out before the appointment saves $30–$50 in labor.
Is leather conditioning necessary every time?
Twice a year is enough for daily-driven cars. The detailer should use a pH-balanced cleaner first, then a conditioner with UV blockers. Skip cars where the leather is already cracked — that's a re-dye job, not a detail.
